A: Both standard PE coating and PE core are combustible materials. Although the overall panel’s fire rating can be improved by using a Fire-Retardant (FR) Core (e.g., achieving Class B1), the surface PE coating itself still has limited fire resistance. For high fire ratings, PVDF coating combined with an FR core is preferred.
